After 20 years in the business, there isn’t much in the way of painting project Widespread Solutions hasn’t accomplished. Our expertise stretches from small residential remodels, to massive commercial jobs, bringing the same level of care and attention to detail no matter the scale. That readiness for any task is why we are so excited about our involvement in the brand new Richmond Riverfront Amphitheater.
The Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront is a 7,500-person concert space being built in Downtown Richmond, Virginia. The project is slated to open summer of 2025 and will provide our city with an unprecedented live music experience. “I’m a huge live music lover,” says Daniel Payne, founder and owner of Widespread Solutions, “I’ve been to hundreds of concerts and the opportunity to contribute to a monumental project for Richmond’s music scene is so exciting.”
The outdoor venue was proposed as a solution for the lack of large entertainment spaces in the city. “It’s tough as a fan to see Richmond overlooked for those mid-level to larger shows,” continues Daniel, “so this is a concert goer’s dream to be able to see a top-tier band 20 minutes away from your front step.” The Riverfront Amphitheater is gearing up to host somewhere around 30 concerts a season, and are looking to feature acts such as Dave Matthews Band, Chris Stapleton, Lionel Richie and Phish.
Of course large-scale projects are good for business, but improving the community and the people you live around goes above and beyond selling big jobs. As a music fan, Daniel sees the project as an oppotunity to leave his mark on the Richmond concert scene. “For me and the team, it’s more than just a job, it’s a chance to put our stamp on a place that we and other Richmonders are going to be going for a long time. It’s a huge source of pride knowing we are making this place more beautiful for people to make memories with their friends and loved ones for years to come.”
When asked who he’s excited to see at the Riverfront Amphitheater, Daniel replied, “Of course I’m excited to see our namesake Widespread Panic, but I’m also looking forward to seeing acts like Greensky Bluegrass, The Infamous Stringdusters, Billy Strings and Goose.” Reflecting on his youth Daniel continues, “I used to drive four or five hours to see some of these bands, but as I get older making that trek gets harder. So I’m really looking forward to having somewhere local to see incredible music.”
Stay tuned for more updates on the Widespread’s progress with the Riverside Amphitheater and for lineup announcements next year.
